Pascal Beausse invites Vincent Beaurin

Pascal Beausse has invited artist Vincent Beaurin to look back at his career on the occasion of the monograph published by Editions Skira Flammarion.

At the same time, Vincent Beaurin will present du prisme cézanien, a series of five color spots exhibited at the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard from July 7 - 10. These recent works originated in the project Le Spectre, presented at the Atelier Cézanne in Aix-en-Provence.

The evening will also celebrate the occasion with Claire le Restif exit of the exhibition catalog Le Travail de Rivière, which was held in 2009 to Crédac, Centre d'art contemporain d'Ivry.

Le spectre, a monograph on Vincent Beaurin, Editions Skira Flammarion, 2010.
The book, which features an exhaustive presentation of Beaurin's work, was designed as a story that leads to the colline des Lauves and Paul Cézanne's studio. The preface was written by historian and Atelier Cézanne director Michel Fraisset. Three texts by Vincent Beaurin and a narrative-interview with close relations - including painter Jean-Michel Albérola - allow readers to immerse themselves in the artist's world and to grasp what lies behind it.

BIOGRAPHY

Vincent Beaurin
Born in 1960 in Charleville-Mézières. Lives and works in Paris.
Represented by galerie Frédéric Giroux, Paris.

After studying goldsmithing at the Ecole Boulle, Vincent Beaurin started practicing painting. Concerned with the issue of accessibility of works of art, he then took an interest in objects meant for use. At the time, his work stood at the crossroads between art and design. In 1998 he set up a design agency for Andrée Putman and headed it for three years.
Since then, his activity has been exclusively artistic. His work has to do with the articulation of the constitutive elements of the statue and the painting as autonomous witnesses to place and presence.
Beaurin has taken part in several exhibitions at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain: "1 monde Réel (A Real World)" in 1999 and "Yanomami, Spirit of the Forest" in 2003.
He also designed two exhibitions with Alessandro Mendini, "Fragilisme" (Fondation Cartier, Paris, 2002) and Scintille Circuit (Lausanne, 2009). The Mudam in Luxembourg commissioned a work from him for its opening in 2006. Several contemporary art centers such as the CRAC in Sète and the Crédac in Ivry-sur-Seine have allowed him to produce important installations. His works are featured in the collections of the Fnac, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, the Mudam in Luxembourg as well as in many private collections in France and abroad.
