Sarah Robayo Sheridan

Sarah Robayo Sheridan is Director of Exhibitions and Publications at Mercer Union, a centre for contemporary art in Toronto, Canada. Her past roles include Managing Editor for the journal Public and Public Programs Manager at Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art. She trained in the MA Curatorial Practice Program at the California College of the Arts and held research internships at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts. Her curatorial projects have been presented both locally and internationally and she has developed an approach to curating that is influenced by her parallel practice as a writer and graphic designer. She has published in 02 Magazine, C Magazine, Camerawork, Public, Prefix Photo and YYZine and she will be a contributor to the anthology 100 Video Artists forthcoming from Exit Books, Madrid. Her current research interests include the history of artists' television and the visual culture of sleep. In 2010, she will be one of the curators of Scotia Bank Nuit Blanche, a city-wide public art event in Toronto.
